Some of my favorite things in the museum are things most people never get a chance to see.
I am currently enthralled with some of the antique sewing patterns in the museum's collection. One of my goals as a historical clothier and museum volunteer is to make these available for others who are interested in them. Now to some folks, it may seem kind of boring to carefully copy these patterns, but it really is seeing a piece of everyday history coming to life. I plan to, at the very least, make these available for the museum to be able to re-print in the original sizes (which is a very exciting NOT tiny on many of them) and if I can set aside enough volunteer time- to grade them up and down a few sizes.
AND if you contact the museum we have this circa 1905 pattern in a single size (40" bust) for $16.00 plus shipping. I am continuing work on re-sizing and getting other master patterns drawn up for reproduction.- Marna
